I graduated from Old Dominion University and earned my law degree from William and Mary Law School. Initially, I interned at a law firm specializing in real estate, eventually transitioning to one of their title companies. There, I managed the underwriter department for over two decades and personally underwrote multimillion-dollar commercial projects while also providing consulting services to the law firm on real estate matters. Over time, I returned to assist with closings and other settlement affairs, which ignited my ambition to establish my own small law firm.
Since 2018, my practice has focused on business law, criminal law, with a specialization in estate planning and real estate. In 2021, I also acquired my real estate license. Alongside my professional endeavors, my personal engagement in house renovations has deepened my passion for all things real estate.
Through my journey, I've come to appreciate the significance of meeting deadlines, executing contracts promptly, serving as a bridge between diverse professionals, and effectively supervising subordinates to attain objectives even in high-pressure situations.
I am a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience in non-profit leadership and management.
My commitment to excellence is fueled by a deep-seated passion for people and the advancement of professional productivity.
Drawing upon my extensive background in administration and facilitation, I established a consultancy firm dedicated to executive direction and project management. This endeavor stems from a profound admiration for the transformative power of effective leadership and strategic planning.
My entrepreneurial spirit was cultivated early on by the remarkable legacy of my late grandmother, Rosa M. Alexander. As a trailblazing entrepreneur in Janitorial Services, she owned one of Virginia's foremost black-owned enterprises. Her legacy instilled in me a steadfast belief in the importance of entrepreneurship and self-confidence.
Through my consultancy, I am driven by a mission to create enduring positive change through collaborative endeavors. My work is undergirded by a fervent desire to empower individuals and contribute meaningfully to society.
In every endeavor, I strive to leave a lasting impact, leveraging my expertise and passion to foster collaboration, drive innovation, and effect tangible progress.
At the age of 19, I was recruited to work for a Title company, initially as a runner tasked with delivering documents to the courthouse. Over the span of five years, I gained invaluable experience in title examination, collaborating closely with attorneys, freelancers, and marketers. This exposure eventually led to an opportunity at a startup backed by a Real Estate Developer, two mortgage firms, and an attorney. As time progressed, I ascended to the role of supervisor of examiners and acquired a license as an underwriter, enabling me to facilitate the issuance of title commitments and policies.
In 2002, I was entrusted with the position of Operations Manager at this burgeoning company. Beginning from the ground up afforded me numerous chances to comprehend various facets of the industry. It instilled in me the understanding that every role and perspective contributes significantly to the collective success of the team. With the real estate sector experiencing a surge in the early 2000s, our company also witnessed exponential growth. We emerged as the highest volume producing agency for Fidelity National in the eastern region, a title we held for several years. Expanding our footprint, we established joint ventures in Roanoke, Salem, the Richmond area, West Virginia, and extended our services to properties in North Carolina.
In 2013, I attained partnership status within the parent company. Despite market fluctuations, my enduring principles of diligence, commitment, technological advancement, the cultivation of relationships, and the unwavering commitment to integrity in business dealings have persevered over three decades.
